Our 2023 Interior Design Trend Predictions
It’s that time of year where we get inspired and look forward to fresh and exciting new styles. In 2023 we expect to see a massive re-surfacing of mid-mod interiors (not that they ever truly went away). You can expect to see a lot of rich textures and finishes, but presented with the clean modern lines that are essential for a mid-mod look. We also expect to see a lot of the warm tones we saw in 2022 but in a deeper, richer presentation. Take a look below for our top trend picks of 2023.
As always, we are big supporters in doing what you love with your own space. Loving your home is timeless and doesn’t need to follow any trends. These are just the trends we expect (and are excited) to see.
1. Brown Kitchens are BACK
White kitchens have had their moment for awhile now, but we are happy to report that wood cabinets are back (did they ever leave?)! You can expect to see a lot of rich walnut tones, but still with the clean simple lines that we now know and love.
2. Natural Stone Counters
Speaking of white being on the outs - take a look at these natural stone counters. We are so excited to see people embracing the interesting colors and patterns present in natural stone materials! We predict there will be a considerable shift as people embrace a more organic look in their counters.
3. Wallpaper Accent Walls
Wallpaper on the ceiling?! You heard that right. We expect to see people embracing all of the beautiful colors and patterns available in new and exciting ways. People are moving away from “cookie cutter” homes and embracing a more personal and unique style. Wallpaper is an excellent way to achieve this.
4. Statement Rugs
If you aren’t already picking up on a theme here, you should be. Our prediction is that as people embrace making their homes feel more personal and unique, they will also embrace bold colors and patterns. 2021 and 2022 were all about the neutrals, but 2023 is all about finding a way to mix in personality and color variations.
5. Fun, Modern Lighting
We don’t expect to see too much rattan in 2023. You can expect a lot of metals and organic materials presented in clean, modern lines. Drama will be a big factor this year and we expect the lighting options to play into that heavily.
Let’s work together.
